Long Term Service Release
Citrix offers Long Term Service Releases for Citrix Receiver for Windows as a benefit of Customer Success program. Citrix will designate a specific version of Citrix Receiver for Windows as a Long Term Service Release (LTSR) version. Each LTSR version will have a three-year lifecycle. The active maintenance period will end when the next LTSR version is designated. A new LTSR version will be designated approximately every 18-24 months.
During the active maintenance period, a regular cadence of Cumulative Updates (CUs) will be released. These CUs will typically contain fixes, devoid of new functionality, allowing customers to retain the same base version for an extended period of time. The release of a CU for an LTSR version will define a new maintenance baseline and customers will be required to move to the latest CU to receive continued maintenance. After the End of Maintenance (EOM) date for a specific LTSR version, no new Cumulative Updates will be provided for that base version. Citrix customers will be required to upgrade to the new LTSR base version established which might contain new functionality.
This program is limited to Citrix Receiver for Windows and is different from the XenApp and XenDesktop Long Term Service Release program. The current LTSR version for Citrix Receiver for Windows is 4,9. Please refer to the lifecycle milestones chart for the lifecycle dates for the current LTSR version.
Please note that Citrix Receiver for Windows LTSR 4,9 will remain unaffected by the change of 'Citrix Receiver' to ‘Citrix Workspace app’, through its lifecycle.
